Facilities

The Shippen has a bright master bedroom with king size bed and a second beamed twin room where the beds can be joined to make a second king size for two couples staying.

Each room has a unique piece of solid vintage furniture, the interior is both beautiful and practically designed to provide a warm and comfortable retreat after a long day out. We welcome one well behaved dog free of charge and we can offer a dog-sit day by prior arrangement to enable you to visit Chatsworth, Alton Towers, Manchester or other!

There is a spacious open plan living and dining room with log burning stove, the well equipped galley kitchen has a fridge with freezer compartment, electric oven, gas hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, crockery and utensils. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower. High quality bedding, and towels are provided as are a supply of logs.

The Shippen with its beams, old, thick walls, and oak windows is situated in the yard of our smallholding and has its own south facing courtyard garden and ample parking. It looks out across the yard and garden down to an old stone arch where you can watch the chickens! 

The area is fantastic for cycling but not for the faint hearted, we have huge hills! We can advise you on routes using quiet lanes and to make the most of the amazing scenery. Our quiet lane is one of the flattest around and is perfect for little ones building their cycling confidence.

There is no washing machine but if needed we can launder a load for you during your stay.
